Sierra has twelve years of experience working with children ranging in age from three to twenty-one in acute hospitalization and long term residential treatment centers. She also has extensive knowledge and experience in educating parents to increase support and understanding of emotional instability within families. Sierra utilizes a variety of Cognitive Behavioral approaches and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to promote growth and emotional well being. Sierra believes that growth starts with the relationship built between therapist and client and healing comes in a manner that feels safe and comfortable to the client. Integrating mind and body treatment modalities including: mindfulness, yoga therapy, and complimentary treatments, encourages growth of heart, mind, and body, Sierra focuses on the value of parent education and recognizes the importance of parent support throughout the healing process. Receiving support and guidance when facing behavioral or mental health struggles, allows parents to continue to encourage their children through modeling of appropriate interactions. Sierra's years of experience with children and adolescents in treatment facilities has increased her understanding of the importance of building insight and seeking out resources useful to parents during these difficult times. Sierra earned a BA in Psychology from Drury university in Springfield Missouri, and a MA in clinical Psychology from Forest Institute in Springfield Missouri.
